The motorcycles were lined up in three rows for practice laps.  The Expert riders had

white plates with black numbers and were on the outside (our left).  They would go out

first for 4 to 6 practice laps.  The Amateur riders had yellow plates and were lined up

in the middle.  They would get their 4 to 6 laps of practice laps after the Experts.

The Novice riders had red numbers on their plates.  They were lined up on the inside

(our right) and would take their 4 to 6 practice laps last.  Left to right across the front

of the lines are #44 Ron Widman, #30n Joe Gray, and #14n Ron Lyall.  The #37k

(second back in the inside line) is Carl Votaw.  Walking in the straw hat in the far right

of this photo is race promoter Hugo Shea.  If you can identify any of the other riders

in this photograph, please contact Bob Lawrence.

This is the same group of motorcycles as in the photo above but from a little farther away.

Note that there were far more Novice riders (inside line) than there were in the other classes.

Starter Bob Whitney can be seen in the lower left corner of this photo.
