A sticker like the one at right was placed in a window of each car that entered the American Hot Rod Association World Championship drag races run at the Green Valley Drag Raceway between Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas over Labor Day weekend in 1964.  If the car was victorious in its class, a razor blade would be used to remove the word “contestant” from the top of the sticker.  This sticker is the one that was in my 1960 Chevrolet and I removed the whole sticker with a razor blade before I sold the car in 1965.  It is a little worse for wear but, since I did not win, it is all that I have to show for that weekend in Texas – Sticker from the Bob Lawrence collection
