Bo Stearns’ Track

This half-mile racetrack was utalized for auto racing from 1930 until 1939.

 

 

This photo was taken from the southwest corern of the infield and shows the concrete foundation on which the judge’s stand once stood.  That is the front (west) straightaway on the other side of the concrete – Bob Lawrence photo

 

 

 

This photo was taken from between the first (southwest) and second (southeast) turns looking east into the second (southeast) turn.  The racetrack’s poor drainage is utilized today as a shallow pond for livestock.  The next photo down was taken by just turning around and looking west at the first (southwest) turn.  The second photo down was taken from a second story window in the old barn at the top center of this photo that is parcially hidden by trees – Bob Lawrence photo
