Leep and Ratzlaff battled for the lead for the first three laps until Ratzlaff spun out in the northeast turn. Leep then pulled to a big lead over second place Nelson.

This was a close race among the top three competitors. Shumard even lost the lead to Schrock in the northwest turn on the eighth lap but then regained regained it on the back straightaway on the next lap.
