Ging led the first heat race from start to finish.
Crow’s Hudson Special was owned by race promoter Bill Bryant.
McFadden’s Ford Special suffered “engine trouble”.
Algenrind’s Essex Special crashed through the fence in the south turn on two different laps. He was not injured and his car suffered no damage but he elected not to restart the race after the second excursion off of the racetrack

Ging led from the start until the tenth lap when he was passed by Fred Lentz.
Also on the program were a number of novelty events including an auto polo match between two teams of inmates from the Hutchinson reformatory.
