McCallister went through the fence in the fourth turn when his steering gear jammed. He was not injured.
Bryant’s six-cylinder Hudson finished running on three-cylinders and in second gear. One of Bryant’s magnetos went out on the second lap cutting power to three of the cylinders. The engine was built in two units with separate carburetors and ignition systems. When running properly, his Hudson engine would run at 4,000 RPM.
Brown’s car was a Mercer engine in a Ford chassis.
