Bryant dropped out on the second lap of this race with engine trouble.

Moore lead until he was passed on the back straightaway on the seventh lap by Hahn.

Leep flipped on the eighteenth lap and Lies crashed into the back of another car that was braking for that accident.

Frusher took over second place on the twenty-first lap.

Uehling took over third place on the twenty-eighth lap.

These race results are as stated in the N.C.R.A. yearbook but the Hutchinson News reported incorrectly that #78 Mark Walinder of Ness City, Kansas finished in fourth place; #69 Mike McGee of Tulsa, Oklahoma finished in twelfth place; #1 George Armstrong of Bixby, Oklahoma finished in thirteenth place; #19 Walter Sasser of Edmond, Oklahoma finished in fifteenth place; #43 Jim Selenke of Wichita, Kansas finished in sixteenth place; and #27x Danny Shouse of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma finished in nineteenth place in this race.

 

 

There are a large number of discrepancies between the race results reported in the Hutchinson News and these stated in the N.C.R.A. yearbook.  If you know which ones are correct or can shed some light on this problem, please contact Bob Lawrence.
