GENE DeWALD IS ONE OF THE WINFIELD DRIVERS taking part in the stock car races at the Cowley County Fair Thursday and Friday afternoons. Gene, sponsored by the Drennan Motor Company, has been racing cars for years and four weeks ago brought the first trophy to come to Winfield from the Wichita stock car races. Before returning to Kansas, Gene took part in races at Sacramento, Stockton, Los Angeles, and San Diego, California. Gene drives a 1934 Ford owned by Fred Mann, 402 East Seventh St., Winfield, Kansas. |
