Melvin Leland “Mel” Montgomery 1932 – 2002
	Mel Montgomery, left, of Wichita, Kansas drove this John Hebb owned 1957 Ford to victory in the A feature at Winfield, Kansas on June 23, 1968. That is John Hebb in white at the front of the car in the photo above with his back to the camera. Montgomery’s son, Michael Montgomery can be seen running into the picture at right above.  Click your mouse on the photo at left to see a picture taken on the racetrack right after Montgomery’s feature race victory.
