Helping a Buddy Celebrate His Victory

Left to right:  Troy Routh, Will Forrest, Charlie Lutkie, and Frank Lies.  Charlie Lutkie had just been awarded the season hardtop stock car championship at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City for 1952.  The trophy is currently on display at the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame of which Lutkie is an inductee - J. Dorell Wilkinson at left with this brother, Duane Wilkinson at Cejay Stadium in 1948.  Dorell Dean Wilkinson was fatally injured in a crash there on July 24, 1948.
