George DeMatthews began his racing career in 1928 as a motorcycle racer.  He went on to race automobiles with Garden State Auto Racing Association, AAA, URC, USAC, and Penn Jersey.  In the 1970s, George hung up his helmet and began working with NASCAR as a Tech Inspector.  He was a charter member of Auto Racing Legends, Inc. and served as that club’s First Vice President – motorsports.com
