“(Fred) Nix was riding a special built Harley-Davidson KR-750 with twin carburetors. He entered the turns low and slide across the racetrack in the middle of the turn almost to the fence. He then exited the corners low treating the track as though there were only two straight-aways and he finished a full straight-away ahead of second place.” – Lee Parker
